I don't know why I worded my response this way. My source was modern (online post by a descendant of the builder), but dated the photo and build to approximately 1924.

Possibly helpful:

Built in France circa 1924, but with an older engine of USA origin.

My grandfather proudly posing on the car he made himself:
Brand: Jourdan (our last name)
Type: Ventoux (we live in Malaucène at the foot of Mont Ventoux)
Cyclecar - 450 kg load
Year maybe 1924?
From a 1914-1918 US Army motorcycle
Engine: Harley Davidson
Car sold by his father while he was in military service because he was afraid that his son, my grandfather, would kill himself with this car. Vehicle never found despite my calls in various specialized journals (Publication by Chantal Dumas Jourdan)
