The base is Mitsubishi but that's not the answer I'm looking for.
Who did the bodywork?

Is it a Datsun with Ryowa bodywork, 1951?

Yes its is; I was wrong when I said it was based on a Mitsubishi, sorry.
But which model Datsun is it based on?
And it's not from 1951.

But how on earth did you trace this one; so quickly as well?

Datsun DB2 from 1949

To be honest, I regularly write articles for Austrian and German classic car magazines. Some weeks ago, I had been asked to write about the Toyota...  ..."Corona"... of course. I never felt common with the early history of Japanese passenger cars, so I had to study all the "Car Graphic"-mags to find pictures of interesting "Corona"-specials.... By the way, I checked out and scanned many other photos of early "rice-cookers". Never knew about their existence before... That's the secret...

Thanks.
It is a Datsun DB, yes, but not from 1949.
It's later than 1951...
Still locked!

It has to be between 1952-1954. Is it 1952?

That's it, yes.
The conversion was in production from 1952 to 1954.
Well found.
