So it is a German DKW 3=6 Universal resp. an Auto Union 1000 Universal (hard to tell the difference from behind) with an unusual tailgate. Done by a German designer?

Yes it is a DKW Universal, built by a German coachbuilder. Locked for three attempts to name it.

For sure, but it is not that bad, mostly between 1 and 8°C, but the wind can get nasty. 🥶
