Please identify this truck for one point
Büssing 4000 T, coachbuilder was Staufen.
Only Büssing is correct
Ackermann?
No
Is it at all a german coachbuilder?
Yes
If I understand you correctly, the Vehicle type is not correct. For furniture transport are often used omnibus chassis and the ground clearance looks like such a version. So might be a 5000 TU (1949-1951) or a TU (1951-1952) with a body by Lamperhoff.
Neither 5000TU nor Lamperhoff is correct
Also no TU?
Yes
Since I am missing the picture I must guess a bitt. The radiator grille looks more like 6000 T than 5000 T. So, it might be the
6 t-version. And on the occasion here the next furniture coachbuilder: Schmitz.
Sorry, it is not an 6000 T, not 5000 T, and not from Schmitz....
It's a Mercedes with fake radiator grille...
But seriously: I am still sure, that is a coach-chassis. Then only 4500 T and TU 5 remain.
It is a 4500 T(.)?
(.) = additional letter
That leaves only the 4500 TU. But none of my sources know this version.
Not 4500 TU
But I agree with you. Me too, never heard about the requested nomenclature before, stated by the owner of the truck
4500 TT from the Isle of Man.
Earlier in the alphabet than T
TL (liegend)?
I just found a 4000 TS with body by Vetter. "S" meanes Switzerland, 2,25 m wide, so called "Schweitzer Breite" (Schweitzer width).
Not L, not S, not 4000, not Vetter
4500 TE? Coachbuilder from the south of Germany?
4500T(.), but not "E". I feel bad in European geography, but, I think, the coachbuilder is from the south of Germany
4500 TA, built by E. Auwärter.
Not 4500TA but 4500T(.) and not Auwärter...
What's on with 4500 TB and Gaubschat?
4500 T(.), but not B and not Gaubschat
Büssing 4500 TP, body by Kässbohrer.
4500 T(.), but not P and not Kässbohrer
Sorry, mixed up this puzzle with another one! LOCKED for 'sichel'.
It is a Büssing 4500 T?, bodywork by Karosseriewerke Eislingen. Please find the only missing character... And, sorry please, for my unwariness from the beginning...
You should move the puzzle to expert level as sichel can't reply to rookie puzzles anymore.
Thank you 'Wendax'....
I see, I am really far from an 'Professional'....
@fromwien: So there seems to be no source, neither online nor in writing. So I have to march through the alphabet. I'll start with TC.
Back to the beginning: I found the note. It is a 4500 TM from 1955. His last job seems to have been racing transporter
Exactly that! Your first point a as an 'Expert'! And sorry for all efforts you had, due to my carelessness....
Doesn't matter. What doesn't kill us makes us tougher.
