"This was not part of the original question." Unfortunately, you're right, I forgot this question in the puzzle, but not your point for the solution.
The customer for this vehicle combination was a glassworks in the Ruhr area. In the mornings and evenings, it was used to transport the employees in the works, while materials were transported during the day.
