Yes 770 is correct.  My source said "Type 770 cabriolet D" but I don't know the significance of the 'D'
Now for the coachbuilder.

For your information:
Cabriolet D = 4 doors, 4 side windows (2 at each side  ;))
Cabriolet A = 2 doors, 2 seats, 2 side windows
Cabriolet B = 2 doors, 4 side windows
Cabriolet C = 2 doors, 4 seats, 2 side windows
Cabriolet F = 4 doors, 6 side windows

D means 4-door cabrio in this particular case. As for coachbuilder... Reutter?

Thanks!  I've never heard that before.  Was it a Mercedes classification or more general?
I'm trying to work out what a Cabriolet E would have been.
