CH #005 - Solved - ACF Race at Reims-Gueux. July 3, 1938
« on: November 26, 2017, 08:54:20 PM »
Hey Fellas! I have another neat puzzle that has a twist...

Instead of scowering the internet for a car no ones ever seen, I’ve taken one from the comfort of my home. I found this framed photo at a junk yard a few months ago and I’ve been waiting to share this with you guys! Here’s what I want:

-Track
-Date
-Car Name (opt.)
-Artist

Good Luck!
(Also My Bad Again if theres a big photo. Something wrong with uploading from my phone. I’ll fix it if it’s too big. EDIT: Fixed!)

Geo Ham is correct! However, Tripoli is not. Since there still is a bit to find, I won’t lock it. But if you find some more pieces of info then i’ll lock it. Unless you solve the whole puzzle  ;).

I think FrontMan should get the lock. Once he gave the name Geo Ham, I Googled it and found this poster very easily, but I don't feel comfortable swiping the point from under him so I will withhold from replying.

You're both very kind to an old man!  I guess the further information you require is Reims, 1938.  As to the identity of the car depicted, Geo. Ham was often deliberately ambiguous with his renditions, so I am wary of a definitive answer. ;D

You are 110% correct! You have earned yourself a point. This rendering was illustrated by Geo Ham and depicted the A.C.F race at Reims-Gurex track on July 3rd, 1938. As for the car, I wasn’t so sure myself so I put it as optional wondering if there was an exact car. But you get the point! I’ll have a full photo up later today  ;D

Well, that's nice.  To celebrate, I've just had a Geo. Ham sandwich for lunch! 8)
