The tractor head is a Mack F-series.

1965 'Super Pumper' of New York City Fire Department.
The purpose of the truck was to carry a large amount of suction hose.

Definitely it is.
A pump was driven by 2400HP 18-cylinder Napier Deltic diesel engine.
