That's a Le Mans entry from the early 50s, but I'll have to look it up.

It's 1939 - Simca 8 Gordini Le Mans.

;D I think you have the answer! It's only been a few hours! I'm having second thoughts - that extra spotlight on the nose- maybe the Bol d'Or.

Only Simca 8 Gordini 1948.  Nicanary, you have the point.  A better view

my source says the Mille Miglia 1949 but it is wrong because when I check the start list no simca 8 is indicated there. So unfortunately I can't say where the car is photographed

René Bellu shows a picture of this car with the same starting number captioned as "La nouvelle barquette 1100 première au Bol d'Or 1948 pilotée par Scaron."

Thanks. That odd spotlight suggested to me that it could be Bol d'Or - it would pick out the edge of the road out in the wooded area of the track.

This one is a very prominent car:
It is Simca Gordini TMM 1GCS Sport ('Gordini' book, Roy Smith), built June 1947, first race: 6/07/1947 Reims, #32, Trintignant 3rd place overall
I would feel happy to see the puzzle car's race number and registration plate to be able to clearly identify the race, where it started.
The second picture shows TMM 1 GCS Sport with race number #37 in 1948 (not identical race to the puzzle car):
The car ran two times in 1948 with #37:
1) Bol d'Or 16-17/05/1948: 1090ccm, Scaron, 1st place overall
2) 12h Paris 12/09/1948: 1430(?)ccm, Veyron/Manzon, DNF
Additionally the car ran one time in 1949 with #37 (small different details, like hood fasteners, etc., identical to the puzzle car):
ACF GP du Comminges, 7/08/1949: 1490ccm, Scaron, 3rd overall

The puzzle car is:
Simca Gordini TMM 1GCS Sport, Le Mans 1949, #49, Trevoux/Lesurque, abandoned 1st hour with seized water pump

According to a well known Le Mans website #49 at the 1949 Le Mans race looked like this:

Sorry Wendax, I have to correct you once more:
The latest picture, you've posted of the Simca Gordini TMM 1GCS Sport, is from Le Mans 1952, #49, piloted by Mahé/Scaron, DNF oil pump failure
Another one attached

To complete the official Le-Mans-ventures of Simca Gordini TMM 1GCS Sport, here a photo from Le Mans 1950, #41, driven by Mmes Gordine/Mmes Rouault. DNF accident

Sorry Wendax, I have to correct you once more:

I can see how much you like to correct me, but in this case I just said that lemans-history.com is showing that picture as #49 in 1949, and they still do. I myself am no Le Mans expert, so I can't tell whether they made a mistake or not. But it seems they probably did.

All you can see, is just the attempt to provide all players with the most correct answers possible.
Even, if carefully researched results are called into question by search results on more or less good websites.
I think, it's kind of the point of the site to manifest the right results and not trust guesses too much, which of course are also part of the game.
Sorry, no more, no less. All other is personal interpretation

Dear BERTRAND, please excuse my late answer to your questions. Sorry, unfortunately I missed your reply.
What happened:
The  new so-called 'Mille Miglia' 1GCS originally should have been driven by Franco Rol at the Mille Miglia race in 1947. But needed to be substituted by chassis #810404 for this event, after TMM 1GCS incurred a cracked cylinder head on the way to the Mille Miglia.
Rol/Righetti retired immediately at (after?) the start of the Mille Miglia with Simca Gordini #810404, race number #132.
Wrongly you will find TMM 1GCS with #132 in many MM-start-lists (one attached), as originally this car had been entered for this event
