I guess it's time for some clues. Despite the looks of the car, this architect was not really a Modernist. He mostly built churches, although he built a few commercial/residential buildings in a more modern style. There is a surviving, quite well-known building in Southwark. There are two of his buildings in my town, Brighton, one much modified and converted and one well-preserved and Listed...

Harry Stuart Goodhart-Rendel ?

Okay, we've got 50% of the way there! Goodhart-Rendell was the owner of this car, but it was designed for him by a fellow architect with much more obvious Modernist tendencies. He designed mainly residential buildings in London and the South East, many of which are still standing, and was also a well-known author on Modern architecture.

What a pity - I'd have liked it to have been H.R. Ricardo in view of his son's contribution to engines!
Opinionated but sometimes wrong
