I think it's going to be something that you wouldn't expect to see that rear end on, and it looks like it has UK plates.  How about an MGA?

It's British and possibly not what you would expect, but no-one has it yet

Standard Ten?

It's a Standard, but not a Ten. Locked for you.

The wheels look like they're a bit on the big side for anything smaller, so could it be a Vanguard?  If it is, my guess would be a Phase III due to the lack of the prominent sills that featured in the Phase I and Phase II..

Barrett last logged on here on 7th August.
We've sent him PMs and emailed him personally to plead with him to answer the many questions asked in his puzzles but regrettably without any reply.
His puzzles are very good ones so the last thing we want to do is delete them; it may be we will have to take them over but none of the Editors know the correct answer to most of them!
You do seem to have found the right answer so taking it over may be the best course of action to take, but we'll probably have to leave it another couple of months before taking that drastic action.

barrett did log in here on 27th September but it seems he doesn't want to answer all the questions!
Maybe there are so many to answer he doesn't have the time...
