From a recognised car manufacturer - or from a home builder?

It is the Canadaire Buckler MK15, raced by Lew Francis in Canada. Do not know the engine, is it around 800cc?

This looks like a match for UAR 72, which I have as the 1172cc Ford-powered special (Buckler 90-based?) campaigned by Graham Waddup in the UK, 1956-57.

Ok, let me try this again...

1956 'Waddup Ford' (Buckler 90 chassis with 1172cc Ford sidevalve motor), built by Graham Waddup and campained in the UK by Waddup (reg. 'UAR-72'), 1956-57

Being driven by Waddup to 2nd Place in the 1172F category at the Silverstone National Meet on October 6, 1956:

It definitely isn't the Canadaire Buckler. I'm 99.9% sure this is the correct solution - I thought the Waddup had been a previous puzzle but a search says no.

Do the editors agree to award the point?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

I think so.
I posted the Waddup Buckler as a reply to a Buckler puzzle but I couldn't find a picture of it so I was just guessing; my guess turned out to be wrong!

OK. Solved.

Sorry gte4289 for the delay. As I'm sure you have worked out, the puzzle-setter has been absent from these pages for some time, and the editors are trying to get the situation resolved.  Unfortunately we don't have access to the source of the puzzle images and we have to use combined minds to make a final decision.

Anyway -weil solved amd a point to you.
