Not the best pic I know!
Potentially it's another re-post, but couldn't find it on a search. (admins merge if necessary!)
So, let's find out what it is, what engine it has, who built it and when!
You're grown-ups and know the rules! ;D Play fair!

A nice one! I don't think that it is a repost.

There's a lot going on here! It has styling elements from so many contemporary cars, it could almost be anything.
A wild guess: a Mazda prototype for the Familia model, with rotary engine, from about 1966

From a 'known' manufacturer, or a private project?
At least one 'known' manufacturer was involved and a few rather obscure ones, too. These are not completely unknown for the Autopuzzles.com community though..

Wartburg prototype than become the NSU RO 80?
I just have to ask: "Is it a Wartburg prototype that DID NOT become the NSU Ro80? ;)
Don't bother replying as I'm not serious.

Kunststoffversuchswagen DDR
Glass-fibre reinforced plastic body made by Hans Wax on Wartburg 353 chassis, six-cylinder two-stroke engine by Müller-Andernach, built in 1968.
The engine was changed later on to a normal Wartburg engine. The car was scrapped around 1989/1990.

Yes.
Biography of Hans Wax is quite interisting. Tried to find out for years who he was regarding the Wax Alfa Romeo we had here long before.

Reading about his life I'm not surprised anymore that his story was deleted from (West-German) history..
Another point for Wendax, the Eddy Merckx of Autopuzzles..

Thank you. I've had the pictures for about two years in my Unknown folder. When I saw your puzzle I thought it would be the right time to renew the search and I found a enlightening blog entry.

Thanks for posting the not cropped pictures. Found it by chance while searching for more info of Hans Wax and finally after five years it popped up.
