Wasn't this one of my previous puzzles? (NYH...)

some of the running gear may well be of 1956 origins but i don't think that is correct as a build date.

Otto Puzzell

That's right - it's much newer. It was conceived and crafted by John Toom, manager of model shop at Nissan Design, International in La Jolla Ca. from 1982-2000

Hi,
Just wanted to add that my dad, John Toom designed and built
this car to near completion, when cancer claimed him
in Aug. 2001. Ron Kellogg took the car over and brought it
to life, it has been shown in many car shows.

My dad was car crazy all his life...  :)

The basic facts are:
Chassis: 1956 XK140
Engine: 1963 Jaguar XKE 3.8 litre
Body design and creation (including original buck and metalwork), steering wheel,
door handles, and custon designed and created knobs - John Toom

Gauges and badges designed by me (Joni Toom)

Thank you for posting the car here. It makes me proud everytime
I see the car.
I believe the car is currently for sale.
p.s. if you want more pics, I have more...

Hi Joni,

Wellcome to Autopuzzles and thank you for the extra info!
I'd love to see more pics of it (and of your design of the badges).

As you can see this car was one of the 1st I posted as puzzle long ago, I thought it was a stunning design and quite obscure.
It deserves more attention!

Ciao,
Francesco PJ

I agree.
What a wonderful testament to John Toom's skills and vision.
That's the best Jaguar XK-based coupe I have ever seen.
His daughters must be very proud of their late father.

It seems that He was surrounded by beauty, in his creations and in his life.
