My father took this picture : 24 hours of Spa 1949 ?

I have resized the image in an attempt to read the race number, to no avail. If it is indeed the 1949 Spa race, then it could be a rebodied pre-war Fiat 508C Balilla - it looks a lot like an early Gordini or DB but streamlining in those days resulted in cars which all looked similar.

The photo has been taken neither in Spa nor in 1949, but..

..at the Grand Prix de Frontières (sports car class up to 1100ccm), Chimay (Belgium) in 1948
It is the NG Special (Fiat engine), driven by Bessieres
