Target 550 Post 212: The wheel fairings are done.

Target 550 update #212: The Kevlar wheel fairings have been completed and Marlo picked 'em up in Washington and brought 'em back to his shop in Oregon. All the parts of the car are now in the same location.

These are the wheel fairings for which the originals (made from aluminum) were such a pain in the butt (almost as much so as the tail.) I believe that several sets are done and can be replaced if they're damaged somehow. At least that's the plan.

Here are a coupla shots of the panels to which the fairings attach loaded in Marlo's van...that's the end of the stuff from Washington.

Wouldn't they work better on the outside of the van?

Probably.  But they'd have a hard time getting to where the liner is.   ::)

Here's a poster I've been working on (like trying to herd cats, cuz the folks I'm working with are all over the country: Oregon, Washington, Texas, North Carolina, California, etc.  If this was the old daze with long-distance charges, I'd have been in the poorhouse by now.)  We're trying to get it ready for the Portland Swap Meet...it starts in a week.  We still haven't gotten a version that everybody agrees on.  Hell, only this morning did I find out that they wanna print it in 24x18 format.  I've been working with 30x20.  Different aspect ratio.  If I had hair, I'd have pulled it all out by now.  (Don't tell my alter-ego that I have a beard...it could be gone soon.)

Ironically, I didn't become a graphic artist until...well, I never did.  I can edit photos, but I can't draw a straight (or curved) line freehand.  I broke out my graphics tablet last night and found that I could do a much better job of selecting/cropping/erasing, etc. with the mouse (in my left hand...and I'm right handed, but left-moused.   ??? )

I think I'll go work on my race car.  Or maybe turn the Camaro's traction control off and see if I can make it let some of the smoke outta the tires.    :drive:  Maybe I'll invite a friend to come along.   :hyper:  :nerves:

Nice poster. Will you be selling them online, as well?

I'm pretty sure we will.  Right now all we have available is t-shirts and the design has been changed (the guy in Texas has decided...apparently with my suggestion...that the graphic will be on the front, rather than the back of the shirt) so what I've put on our "Store" page is out of date before it really got going.  But the page that links to the graphics' guy's web store is here:  http://www.target550.com/store.htm

As soon as I can pry a shirt out of him (or even a decent photo), I'll add that to the Store page, and if he can handle web-store sales of the poster, I'll make sure they get on that page, too.

Thanks for the inquiry.  I'll pass that on the the rest of the unherdable cats and see if it motivates 'em a little.
