After one race, it would appear that it did have some impact on Ferrari.

They've never really gotten their package to work well at Malaysia.

Plus Kimi had his engine revs turned down to make sure they got important points.

Both excuses, but I honestly believe that if Kimi or Massa had gotten in front of Hamilton, it would have been a different race.  Ferrari was running too much downforce.  Perhaps hedging their bets on a tropical wave, as has happened many times at that venue.

Either way, great win by McLaren.  I expect Sahkir will be different this weekend.  For starters I expect Renault to insert themselves into the podium battle.

Can you say, "Pole position?"

Being fast over a single lap is very different.  From what I understand they took rear wing off for qualifying, and re-applied it for the race.  Plus it was considerably hotter on race day, than during qualifying.  The key is that the car was not suited for the conditions during the race, but was during qualifying.  That's all.

Remember 2 degrees of temperature make a big impact on these packages.  McLaren got it right, end of story.

Horsepuckey.

Felipe was up Lewis' behind until he blew it.  Kimi's car was speed limited due to Ferrari unreliability and he still got third place.

The Ferrari of Felipe Massa was the best car on the track and they didn't even have enough pit strategy to get him by Nick Heidfeld.

Ferrari showed very weak at this race.   :P

But floorboards, of course, had nothing to do with it.
