I've been wondering why some F1 drivers are not very quick off the start line.
Since the controversy over launch control systems a few years ago, the FIA has ensured that the regulations have been tightened up to eliminate any possibility of a repeat.
With modern technology there is no excuse for a sluggish start as long as the driver's mind is on the task at hand.
I think I have come up with a reason for this and you can't really blame a red-blooded male F1 driver for this.
Ever since the introduction of grid girls drivers have had another distraction to clear from their minds before concentrating on the green light (or the extinguished red lights of today).
What can the teams do to alleviate this problem?
Remember Alonso's jump start in China?
I think Ferrari have been working on the problem - it just needs some fine tuning!
See my next post for what I can reveal as Ferrari's secret weapon.
