Montoya Wins a Corker in Sonoma!
« on: June 25, 2007, 08:58:39 AM »
Starting well back in the field, he used a tactic little known in other racing series called passing to move towards the front!

He and his teammate were running 1 and 2 with McMurrray ahead, Harvick was simply cruising along in third because both McMurray and Montoya were told they'd have to get a splash of gas to finish - McMurray ran out - Montoya didn't - till about 100 ft past the finish line.

Well done Juan!

Jeff Gordon and his teammate JJ started at the back and Jeff finished 7th, a very good run for him and he's still 260 or so pts ahead for the chase. JJ finished in the 20's..........

I love watching these guys pitch these monsters around the nice tight sports car course, trading paint al the way - it was a fun race to watch!
