I was actually surprised to see him penalised - Kimi didn't exactly leave him a lot of room there, and he did back off to let Kimi through again.

Anyway, it must be really bitter for the Flying Finn to realise that had he only stayed on the track after the Hamilton incident, he would have won...

Those of us old enough to remember racing on circuits with no run-off areas or possible short-cut routes on artificial chicanes dispair at the number of Rules that have to be made and enforced to keep the competitors in line.
Puts me in mind of club races at Goodwood where "four wheels on the grass" equalled disqualification.

It seems that McLaren drivers get penalised for having collisions and for avoiding them.

Too many Rules; not enough racing
