Fantasy F1 Teams?
« on: February 27, 2016, 12:00:08 PM »
Any of you wanna get involved in some Fantasy F1 race teams?  Lots of websites to do this with.

I'm in.  We need a few others to make it viable.

Anyone?

Though I usually suck at this, I'm happy to participate as the back marker!  :D

Me too.
I used to have a couple of fantasy teams some years ago and enjoyed it hugely.
So I'm in, but the circus starts 3 weeks today so we need to get on with it...

I've registered as oko94 (how original). How can I join the Autopuzzles league ? I can only create a Fantasy GP Team, not join one. Do I have to receive an invitation or something ? Do I have to subscribe to a £5 Rookie membership ?

After creating your team, you'll need to click the "Friends League" link on the right, and enter the code (I had to enter it twice).

I'm not 100% sure on this myself. I think I wanted a "Flying ____" -type name where "____" was something not particularly known for speed or flight. I don't recall how I settled on a burrow owl.  ???

Perfect...now I know who I am racing against: last place has to be mine!
This is the first and only online game I ever joined and I have no clue about how it works.
I hope suggestions and heads-up will be posted here for those, like me, who will miss things there.

When you join you're given a budget ($75 I think) then  you get to choose your teams and drivers.
But of course you can't just choose the top ones otherwise you exceed your budget..
You might get one top team and driver but then you only have enough money left for the back-markers..

When the race is run you get points according to how your teams (3) and drivers (3) did; at the end of the season the one with most points wins!

It's great fun and really gives you something to wish for on a Sunday afternoon; and it's not always wht you'd want if you weren't taking part!

An important bit of information - there are big points available for how many places a driver pics up during the race, so a slow but steady driver may be lucrative, especially in a high-attrition race.

I just tried to, but it kept refusing my log-in details. I'll have to find time later, if just to keep face as a motorsport enthusiast.

PS It's Bernie's Flying Circus, not a sport, but you all know what a miserable curmudgeon I can be..........
