Hey, I made some minor adjustments, and netted more than twice as many points this week than all of the previous races combined! 

I'm still near the basement, but it gives me hope..

I don't have enough money to do diddly except choose dregs squeezed from the remainders of the final press of the scrapings from the bottom of the chaff barrel. It ain't looking good lads, but I'll give it the ol' grammar school try and, by showering it with neglect, pray that it goes away.

My grammar school instilled me with a set of remarkably low standards that I consistently fail to meet. So I have that going for me.

So let's say you had a little money to upgrade your team before the French Grand Prix.

Let's say....maybe 18.5 million or so.

Not enough for a Ferrari / McLaren chassis or a Alonso / Raikkonen - class driver. Maybe enough for a BMW/Sauber chassis or a Heidfeld- type driver. What's the theory here, hold tight for a race or two and upgrade then? Or go ahead an up now, take the 10% hit, and upgrade again when money is available?

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

For you Monday morning quarterbackers, the overall leader's strategy was:

Driver1 Driver2 Chassis Engine

Hamilton Davidson SA SA  <- start
Hamilton Davidson SA Mercedes <- for Bahrain
Hamilton Heidfeld SA Mercedes <- for Monaco
Hamilton Heidfeld McLaren Mercedes <- for US

Basically a bold bet out of the gate and a major upgrade every other race, rather than incremental upgrades after each race. Live and learn.


Oh, and the bottom 1000 or so consist of people who apparently joined late, dropped out early, have incomplete teams, or backed Honda.

It certainly was a wild weekend...unpredictable, with more drama than any NASCAR race I've seen lately.  I also made a driver change, and it bit me in the butt...oh, well...there's always the next round.

The Burrow Owls have McLaren as well, but I can't say getting zilch over the weekend really bothers me. Seems to have hit everyone pretty evenly, and helps to drive home the fickle nature of F1 scoring

The Burrow Owls have celebrated their historic points win this past weekend at Instanbul with a round of Northern reticulated field voles. Them's good eatin!

Furthermore, I have determined that if I maintain my historic average for the next 5 races, I can win autopuzzles OUTRIGHT, as long as the current top 3 score zero point from here on out. GO BURROW OWLS!

I was hoping to sneak onto the podium some how, but the F1 Manager site doesn't have a "steal other teams blueprints" button that I can find.

F-1 looks too far ahead for me to catch.   I really want to keep MPat behind me now.

A certain little bird ( a burrowing bird, no less) told me that the F1 Manager site is soon to decide how to handle the McLaren penalty...options to include denying them any further points this season. May want to keep an eye on the paddock:

The Burrow Owls are content with a non-podium fourth on their inaugural season, but hungry for more. We're hibernating and regaining strength the next few months, ready for a springtime emergence.
