In Honor Of Russian Race Drivers!
« on: March 27, 2011, 08:53:52 AM »
Hey, faksta. Your man did an outstanding job in Australia this weekend. I don't think anyone predicted Petrov would finish on the podium.  Very, very cool.

Thanks. I would never bet on him to be on podium today, but he has done an excellent job and I'm so happy :D The only thing that makes me a little sad is Marussia-Virgin performance... With all the rumors about their Le Mans participation this year I hope they'll do better there.

Petrov did a really nice job all weekend. He qualified well. He had a hell of a start. And he drove a controlled, error free race for a well deserved podium finish. He was rumored to be on his way out at Renault at the end of last season, but I'm betting the team is glad to have him around for the beginning of this one.   :D

Kubica's misfortune could be Petrov's lucky break, just as Kubica's absence after his crash at Montreal gave Vettel's career forward momentum. As Michael Schumacher has learned, no matter how good you are, there is always someone just a little bit quicker waiting in the wings.

It will be interesting to see how Petrov performs the rest of the season.  :drive:

Indeed, hope he will be at the same level. Seems like this time the car is set up on him, not on Heidfeld (and I thought Nick would be faster than Petrov in Australia, especially with his knowledge of Pirelli tires...)
Too bad Aleshin couldn't find his way to F1 this year  ::)

He had an accident, the side of his car was ripped open.
Combined with a bad result in quali rendered his chances useless.
