Yes, Frieder Bach, founder of the Museum für sächsische Fahrzeuge in Chemnitz unearthed construction plans for a DKW F9 race car, probably to be built for the 1939 (!) Berlin-Rome road race which never took place. He started the project to recreate this car for his museum. The work has been carried out by the Fraunhofer-Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Umformtechnik IWU. They use the Silberhummel as a technology demonstrator for their economically efficient sheetmetal forming technology, especially for low production numbers. Next step will be the addition of a fuel cell to the car.
I regarded this interesting story as part of the puzzle, while the car's name alone would have been an unsatisfying solution to me. Sometimes (as in this case) I don't include the detailed questions in the first post, because questions can lead the way to the solution. I prefer the method with locks and subsequent questions, at least at pro level.
