Locked again for pguillem, because Vetter is right. Deutsche Touring was not the customer, but that is not the question.
However, the type designation was no longer Saturn II, but??

I don't even know of a Saturn III. After the Saturn II, Magirus-Deutz switched from planetary names to a combination of numbers and letters. The puzzle bus also lacks the step in the roof.

I found a Saturn III MS of the Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe AG, built in 1964.

Is 70_3 (230 T 117) the combination you look for ?

Close up: The Puzzle bus was not intended for the Cologne transport company. 70_3 doesn't mean anything to me, but your example for the type designation is correct in principle. With the Puzzle bus, however: less power, different type of use, different length designation.  Still blocked.

All I know about the puzzle bus.

1. A similar bus was used by the Deutsche Touring for the liaison Munich-Teheran-Munich. It was a Magirus-Deutz Saturn II L delivered in 1965 to TBT. Co./Iran

2. A similar bus was also in use by the Würzburger Straßenbahn (Wagen 62). I don't know the Bus typ.

My informer from Würzburg tells me that this company operated only the Saturn II and III plus the VöV Version. The only VöV I could find is this 150 S11 from 1967. Could it be this one ?

In 1964, Magirus changed the type designations of the buses from planetary names to a combination of numbers and letters: three-digit number for the power in horsepower / letter for use as a city bus, intercity bus or coach / two-digit number for the length in metres. The puzzle bus dates from this period.
I think it is very likely that the old names were still used in everyday life.

Well, I found traces of the Magirus Saturn III. I assume that it was introduced after the model changes in 1963. One is the Cologne Saturn III MS from 1964 (see post #30) and there is also a workshop manual for Saturn I, II and III from 1963, but I only have a type designation for the puzzle bus according to the scheme introduced in 1964. It should therefore have been built between 1964 and 1966. A small step in the roof was introduced in 1966, which it lacks. So this puzzle is still unsolved.
