I had also spotted the Hofbräuhaus, having been there a few years ago, but had come round to thinking that the initials HB were relevant, rather than Munich. Hofbräuhaus has become an international franchise, and its logo consists of the conjoined letters H and B (as below).

I have spent a lot of time looking at Car X, which looks like a mid-1930s Morris, but with a different radiator, which also looks to have been moved forwards by about 20 to 30 cm. I eventually found some other photos of it, showing that it had been converted to steam power (hence the radiator is actually a condenser). These showed a UK registration number FBP 698, and on checking the DVLA website (UK Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority), it is registered as "HB Steamer".

So I think Car X and Architecture 8 are linked by the initials "HB", but I am currently unable to link an "Extra" to them.

Well done so far. X-8-? locked for you. Find out more about the car and the extra will be easier to find.

Correct! The creator of the Thomas Rocket also designed the Aqua-Cheetah.

Maybe I've found a connection: U-19-r
U = OM 36 Truck
19 = OM Ashram complex under construction
r = OM forklift

Well done! Car U is in fact an OM 32 Autocaretta, but that is close enough.

X-8-? locked for you. Find out more about the car and the extra will be easier to find.

Thanks - that's a generous clue.

So we have X, the HB steam car and 8, the Hofbräuhaus Munich, with its HB logo.

I found an auction listing that says the steam conversion on the HB car was done by a company called Thomas Hill of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, UK in 1938. The Extra should then be d, a diesel-hydraulic shunting engine built in 1963 by the same company, Thomas Hill (Rotherham).

I've found the solution for K-?-q, but as ropat53 was the first to react I'll wait for his next post before giving the solution.

I've a solution for C-4-t but the step 4 isn't too clear:
C = Georges Irat OLC3 with Labourdette body after WWII
4 = Flaminio Bertoni's grave, Flaminio Bertoni was the designer of the Citröen 11 and the Georges Irat OLC3
      had the motor and drive system of that car
t = Georges Irat VDB (Voiture du Bled)
