ropat#18 - Bianchi but what model?
« on: April 13, 2013, 10:00:33 PM »
This is a family picture, taken in Balcarce - Argentina towards the end of WWI.
All I know is the marque of the car, I don't know the model, the coachbuilder or the exact year.
So for one point what's the marque and extra point for any information that can be proved.

I believe this car is an Italian Bianchi.  If this marque is correct then I think this might be a: 3.3 liter Type B tourer, which was introduced in 1915.

Yes you are right it is a Bianchi, as I stated I don't know what model it is.
Seated at the rear, in the first picture, are my maternal grandfather James Hope Brown, grandmother Margaret, aunt Elisa and uncles Albert and Finlay.

I won't send this to the solved section for a while, to see if the model can be properly identified, with the help of this other view where the Bianchi badge is clearly visible.

I'd bet a G-type but I'll have to check.

Now, there's an interesting story about this E-Type:
There is an article online, taken from a magazine I have...there is written that there were 6 Tipo E built and beside this (sold to an official of the Army in Malesia later moved to Australia) there is another chassis in Argentina.

Trying to tidy up some really old puzzles on this board.
Any chance you could do something with this one Robbie?
