PN #212 - I don't know this one
« on: July 15, 2011, 03:43:42 AM »
About a year ago, we photographed this pickup truck on the highway. It had Romanian number plates. It may be home made, but I don't know anything about it.
So two points if you can identify it and support proof.

Reminds me a lot of Land Rover Forward Control, maybe a (badly) rebuilt one? ??? The headlight/turn signal layout and seats seem to match too.

Well, nothing further was added in more than a year's time, so if everyone agrees, I am declaring this one solved

I really don't know what this is, but the steering wheel looks nothing like a Land Rover. It looks more like a Willys Jeep, but I don't know how likely that might be.

As it was on Romanian plates, isn't it more likely to be eastern European or Russian?

What also confuses me is that in the shot of the right hand side, there just seems to be a chassis member running along the side, but on the right, there seems to be some mechanical bits on view (arrowed). Is that just a transfer gearbox, or is the engine mounted behind the cab? Unfortunately there's just not a good enough view of things.
