I know it seems unfair, but I hope it's not.
These cars are all over the web. If you google "Alfa Romeo Barchetta", you can find 25/30 of them. To find how they are named it's not hard, after all. If I do not have anything more, that would be enough. But when I do know the builder, that's what I'm looking for. Those names are pure fiction.

Well OK, but 15 ARB took a lot of finding..
Google even for the answer, "Alfa Romeo 1900SS Barchetta Stradale 1954" and you don't get anything without a great deal of patience and certainly Googling for Alfa Barchettas doesn't bring it up at all.  It took me many hours to get that name and there's no mention of the builder that I have found on the web, so it was probably just a guess?

When I started this goup puzzle I knew I was going into many troubles.
I'll try to be as equal as possible.
I had 40 cars and many of them were/are built by the same few names. This is why I decided to award 1 point for 3 correct guesses. You can find a good number of them within few minutes BUT not the correct info. I had to dig a lot for that. I received papers, I made some phone calls and I had to ask to many people in the know.
There still can be errors because, like you wrote, there is a mistery surrounding these cars.
I didn't want to award 11 points for just 2 names: Greppi and Salerno.
On the other hand, how can I award your efforts for finding the model's name? In other cases those names were easy to find and I don't know how to set the limit.
I decided to give points only to complete answers and the builder was missing. I know he just guessed, but he did it  many times before he found the right one and in this case it worked. It won't work for the missing ones, but with the right questions it can be done.

You're not paying attention oko94!
As I already said:

9 ARB:  Alfa Romeo 1900 Barchetta Sportiva 1955 in the Strada del Prosecco e Vini dei Colli 100 Miglia 2010.
Sold new to Austria as a 1900 C SS. Found without body and current owner had a body constructed on what was left of the frame. The new
body was built in Austria but I don't know who by..

In fact I was wrong about the new body being built in Austria, but I don't know where it was built.  Maybe Italy, Switzerland or Germany, but it's definitely an evocation or a recreation as I believe the new owner tried to follow the lines of the original body without ever actually seeing it!!   So you'll have to keep guessing...

9arb: built in Italy by an entity that has already been mentioned in this puzzle ?

You answered "Yes" to that and I'm totally confused. It has already been stated it's not a classic car and it's not by Greppi, Diomante or Ferrero. I can't find any other Italian name in this puzzle apart from the classic coachbuilders (Castagna, Touring, Zagato). Norberto Vigano sounds rather Italian but he seems to be from Argentina. Have I missed something ?

Nope, I am the one missing something...the time to do things right, it seems. I thought you meant "already mentioned in Autopuzzles".
To repair my mistake, I am going to give you all a big hint, to this puzzle and to some more of mine.
I am leaving probably the only way to the solution to some puzzles of mine in each and very post I made, literally.

The best way to hide something is in plain sight :lmao:

Alright, so let's start with 5arb, built by Steve Bonacker / Stray Dog Garage.

Let's give a chance to other players, that's all I post tonight.

36arb: Built by Papini of Riccione.

I don't see much sense in solving the puzzle this way, total lack of fun.  :(

Papini is correct.
I'm open to suggestions.
I discovered those names after long searches. I had the feeling that it would have taken you years and I thought it was not that fun either. Let's see the missing ones, then.

It saddens me to see that it's so hard trying to do the right thing to please you all.
I won't stress much about how much time it took me to prepare such a puzzle.
I was more interested in sharing what I found,  than let you spend days looking for answers. I already knew some of them are definetly too obscure.
I will take note of the answers of you all and award points considering all your efforts (and your lack of).
There were other puzzles waiting, but I think I will learn from this and present some 'traditional ones'.
Carnut, you are one of the best players and the missing ones (except a couple) are unknown to me too. I guess this will suit you too, Wendax, since there will be all the fun needed and you are an excellent player too. Oko94 and all the rest are no less than anyone and I hope we'll see who'll crack them.

Thanks.
Don't get me wrong; I really enjoyed this puzzle and laud your huge effort to put it together.
It's just that I've exhausted all my alleys and really don't know what else to do to find some (almost) impossible answers!

P.S. I rather thought I'd found the answer to 21 ARB; see my reply #107!

Those cars are not easy. If I told you where to look I spoil the fun...I was hoping in some pressing, but there was not.
I'll find some clues.

Here you are:
AR7: Alfa Romeo 6C 3000 Spider from Argentina. (If no name is found, it goes to Oko94)
* no clue :/
AR13: Alfa Romeo Disco Volante Fianchi Stretti recreation 1952 I know who built it...and it's not obscure, NOW.
AR14: Alfa Romeo 6c 2500 Barchetta Evocation. (If no name is found, it goes to oko94)
* I suspect this one was built by the same builder of several others from this puzzle.
AR17: Alfa Romeo 1900 Barchetta "Conrero". I know who built it...and it's not obscure, NOW.
AR25: Alfa Romeo 1900 Barchetta Frianchistretti Replica. (If no name is found, it goes to Wendax)
* My idea is that it's from the usual serial replica builder from Argentina.
AR26: Alfa Romeo 1800 Barchetta 1953 from Jakarta. (If no name is found, it goes to  pnegyesi)
* He built 2 more cars...I still have to get in contact with him and have no name.
AR27: Alfa Romeo 1900 SS Barchetta (If no name is found, it goes to Carnut.)
* My idea is that it's from the usual serial replica builder from Argentina.
AR35: Alfa Romeo Disco Volante recreation from Georgia (If no name is found, it goes to Wendax)
* No clue :/
AR39: Alfa Romeo Disco Volante replica (Tom Zat's) (If no name is found, it goes to oko94)
* No clue :/

You mean you think AR27 was built by Nestor Salerno?
They're nearly all seriously beautiful cars, whoever built them..!
