Multiple questions, but none of them are new; just confirming what has already been stated in the thread...

Fuel rationing was enacted in the eastern US in May, 1942. Around that time, the press began circulating articles demonstrating how prominent/respected Americans were doing their part in conserving fuel. This was one of the items that caught the attention of the press and was subsequently circulated throughout the American east.

1. There are countless versions of this same little blurb (some of which I've posted below), but none of these give the scooter a proper name. Several refer to the scooters of Mrs. Duncan and her friends as 'motor beach chairs' and at least one calls it Mrs. Duncan's 'get about', but these terms are not capitalized (unless appearing in a headline/title) and don't appear to be proper names. Can you verify that your source assigns a proper name to the vehicle?

2. Additionally, none of the (20+) articles/blurbs I have seen state that Stuart Duncan built the scooter himself, only that his wife and others "had them built." Can you confirm that your source states that Mr. Duncan was the builder?

3. Finally, I have been unable to identify an American aircraft designer from that period with that name. There are a number of articles from that period about Stuart Duncan Davies, an aircraft designer from the UK, however. Can you confirm that your source describes the American Stuart Duncan as an aircraft designer?

Apparently this kind of vehicles were famous in High class society ladies, at that time. This one in particular had suffered some modifications, that's why the article about it. I don't know who built it, I just know that this lady's name and the name was given to the vehicle. All the pictures that you post, shows the same lady with the same car.
Her husband's name was in the article, but there are more than 5 Stuart Duncan: Banker, Airplane designer, Musician, Architect, Dentist, etc. Anyway, all I need to know is this vehicle's given name.

The most famous Stuart Duncan of Newport, RI, and probably the one we are talking about, as his wife is called a society leader, was the chairman of Lea & Perrins, famous importers of Worcestershire sauce. So not an aircraft designer.
