Probably, but I'm not certain.

I believe it was based on an existing race car which would have been fitted with a British engine built specifically for racing. I am only assuming that this engine was retained for the puzzle car.

It's not a Lotus base, but you've understood the clue. It's supposed (I have no proof) to be based on a well-known British race car of the late 1960s. That car was probably raced with a Cosworth engine, but the engine may not have been retained for this car when the photo was taken.

Yes! I will repeat that the only information I have been able to find about this car is talk on a forum, and the talk suggested that this car was built from parts of a Brabham. I have no proof. The engine of the puzzle car is probably not the one fitted in the Brabham.

(PS I realise that Brabham and Tauranac were Australian, but as far as I'm concerned a Brabham racing car was British because they were built in the UK)

They think there might be some Brabham BT21 parts also.

(A clue - there is online information from the present owner of another of the builder's cars, and this person has bodied his car with a Brabham BT21/23 body and painted it in Brabham colours! I do not know, and nor does this owner, which of the cars this one is!)

YES!!! It's captioned as the Revoray Mk3, so I assume that there were 2 previous cars, but of course it could be the 3rd variation of one car. It was raced in the UK's Monoposto Formula series, so it's unlikely the that the Cosworth engine was retained. I think there were restrictions on the sort of engines which could be used, and it would have been far more common for some sort of Ford twincam or even pushrod to be fitted.
