Peter Bailey Special ?

YES! It was built and raced by Peter Bailey of Christchurch, Hants. I think the chassis was homebuilt, and the engine was a Riley 12/4 with special Freddie Dixon cam and head. The car was constructed in 1953 and raced mainly in the south of the UK at places like Goodwood and Castle Combe. In this photo at Davidstow it is raining, as it did at virtually every meeting held at that track.

The car was for sale the following year (I've seen the advert) but I don't think it exists any more.
