No, earlier, as in the early 1950s (although I don't know a precise year). 

If it helps (which I figure it might), this car first ran as a modified, and was then converted to a Formula Junior!

That had me confused! FJ was introduced in 1958, and I think the first race in the States was at Sebring in 1959, although I could be wrong.

I was too busy looking at race results - I know where you found that photo and I should have looked there first, except I don't have that source available to me. Too pricy!
