Yes, it's a Mabon! I think this must be an early prototype as it is quite different from the cars they actually produced, according to Georgano

From what I could find, Mabon primarily produced two and three wheeled motorcycles. I could find no mention at all of a four wheeled automobile by Mabon. I went with this guess based on your statement that the puzzle car differed from descriptions of the vehicles produced by this company.
