so in around 1963 an American company set out to produce this car with a Corvette V8 engine. I assume the company is still around. Is it involved in the automotive industry?

No. It dissapared very quickly.
Also, it was more a private effort than a real Company. However, the car was very seriously intended for production.

Involved as GM and Mercedes-Benz dealer before building this car.

I don't know. As I said - there's no detailed info about this car online, but with few pieces of info, you can find the name of its builder quite easily.
