Let's start this one with only a partial shot of the front of the car.

I'm looking for the person/firm who is responsible for this + the date it was made.
(I do not know the answer myself, but due to some limited information + pictures of the complete car I have, I will be able to reply on some questions)

The wheels make me think triumph as a base car.

Look similar to a TR6 fitment?

Giulietta Sprint based it is (although it might also be a Giulia Sprint or 1300 Sprint which are basically also Giulietta's).

But now the more difficult part:
I'm looking for the person/firm who is responsible for this car conversion + the date the conversion was done.
As I already mentioned, I do not know the answer myself but I hope that one of the Autopuzzles members does know.

Although the front is IMO ugly, the rear looks rather nice and it also looks professionally executed.

On the rear, there is written 'Super Veloce'.

I'm not saying both cars were not converted by the same person/firm, but with the limited information there currently is known of both these cars, I think we can not make that conclusion based on just the design similarity of the front.

Let's move this one on to the Professional section so that everybody can legally

post his knowledge of this car.

@ targhediferro (and other Italian license plate specialists): Can any more information be distilled from the license plate (VE 193962)?
I don't come any further than Venice (Venezia) period 1927-1976.

I would not be surprised if the car was converted in the 'VE' region, but perhaps the period can be narrowed down to a certain year (somewhere between 1954-1965) so that the base car can be better defined.

Something very strange....I've recently pictured this Giulietta Sprint that carries the plate number VE 193962. I think it would be quite strange if the mystery car would have been coachbuilt-back to its original shape, but it's possible...I'd rather say that either that plate didn't belong to mystery car or the mystery car has gone lost and someone got its plate and documents to reborn another car with no papers, even if I hope it's not. This doesn't help to know the coachbuilder.

Based on the what little I can see, the car in your image may be a Sprint Veloce 'Alleggerita'. I don't know how the current market has been treating these rare lightweight cars, but excellent examples were trading for upwards of ~$350k-$400k not so long ago. At those values, returning a molested car to its original configuration tends to make financial sense. If the puzzle car was indeed one of the 200 or so Alleggeritas, I would not be surprised to learn that either: 1) the altered body panels were scrapped in favor or original-looking panels, or 2) the identity of the puzzle car was appropriated in order to lend credence to an Alleggerita clone. Call me naive, but I feel the former scenario is actually more likely than the latter.
