Yesterday I had 259 points.
Today I only have 255!

These points are very hard-won; who on earth has taken it upon himself to remove them?!  Anyone owning up?!

First of all, I'm sincerely sorry for that.

I'm shocked to learn that I am the cause of this trouble but I think I understand what happened.

I browse Auto Puzzles a lot on my smartphone and sometimes the connection is laggy : I have probably accidentally tapped on the "subtract" link a couple of times while a page wasn't loaded properly.

From now on I will stop using Auto Puzzles on my smartphone to prevent this incident from happening again.

Most of my points come from Carnut puzzles so of course I have nothing against him ! I have sent him a PM to apologize.

I also apologize to anyone who lost points because of me.

...and then no more smiting till February.
Some of this cases are just mistakes, because in the complete log you can see that the point was awarded and detracted right after, but in other cases they are just missing points!

Don't worry, we all do mistakes.
One time, I was using a program to download Autopuzzles...that program was following each link in each page and you can't imagine the mess it caused because i was logged in as administrator!
Ultra fixed everything in that case...here seems to be much easier.
I'm going to post here the complete log of that days and each one of us can check what seems to be missing.
You all should check if there was a simple mistake (for example if the point was added and then deleted immediately) or if there was an explanation for that (looking at the date and time you should be able to look back into your posts and see if there was a reason for that).
Nobody will add or subctract any point untill we admins will figure out how many and to whom.

Yes I've had a look at the log too.
I already corrected the 4 oko94 took from me on 3-4/9 but I see he also took one away on 21/8 which I didn't notice as I was away on holiday then another one on 6/8 which I don't seem to have noticed at the time and one back on 13/5 which I never noticed either.

Curiously I also see PJ took one from me on 25/7, which seems odd as he doesn't appear to have given me one by mistake and then taken it away again, just knocked one off!  Any ideas on that one PJ?

I suggest since he has produced the full list PJ should correct it all if he doesn't mind.  I seem to be due 3 more, possibly 4 but going back to May when the problem seems to have started there are quite a number of corrections.  Strange no-one seems to have noticed!

Carnut, I replied in that other topic...I came to the same conclusion regarding that point I took from you...there was no reason and oddly I got a new smartphone a week earlier!
I'll have a look today and try to post a report tonight.

Could it be possible to add a confirmation message box on the "add" and "subtract" links (like the one on the "notify" button) ? This could help prevent mistakes.

Are you sure? According to the log, oko94 took 1 point on June 03, 2014 at 02:52:08 am with no reason and Grob did it too on June 15, 2014, 09:21:02 am.
Grob gave you 2 points the day before, so probably there was a reason (but I still have to check) but oko94 tokk a point from you 2 minutes after you gave him 1, so it can be a mistake.

I don't say that there was no mistake, just that the total of my points is satisfactory. Sometimes when I miss a point, I ask the owner of the last puzzle solved by me, if he might have forgotten to grant me a point. Usually this solves the problem. And sometimes I got a point too many. I keep this in mind and balance it when I miss another point.

Only just noticed your request and note you now have 183 points..
Did anyone correct the discrepancy?

Frequently I'm in the middle of moving a Solved puzzle and awarding points when I get distracted and on returning I think "Now did I award that point or didn't I"?  Convinced I hadn't, I award it, but it's possible I had so it's been given twice.  I'll have to start checking more thoroughly! 

So do you have 1 point too many or not?!

Well, meanwhile I've made a complete survey of the puzzles I've solved and I have 3 or 4 points in excess. I haven't got the results at hand right now but stay tuned, I'll post them tonight or during the weekend.
