Login Issue

Well, this is a strange one.  Whenever I try to log on to the site from my laptop at home, I immediately get the message:

"Sorry, Fyreline, but you have been banned from this forum".  And that's the end of that - I can't do anything further such as ask why, or what I can do to find out.

Now, obviously I have not been banned, because I can still log on from any other computer with no problem at all ( such as the one at work I'm using now). Can a moderator please check and see what the issue might be, or offer me a fix?  If, by some chance, I am indeed "banned from the forum" (although I can't imagine why), I did not receive any communications or warnings at all stating there was an issue of any kind . . . which I assume would be your normal procedure, or am I mistaken? In any case, I'm thinking this is some sort of technical problem and I'm hoping someone can offer me a solution. I enjoy this site a lot since discovering it a couple of months ago, and would like to continue using it.  Thank you.

It seems that, around 22 September, a series of login attempts with the wrong password were made, from an IP address that differs from the IP address logged when you started this thread. I may be wrong, but the software may be setup to ban an IP address after too many failed login attempts.

I'll wait for Ultra to log in and address this topic. If I'm correct, the ban is easily removed.

I appreciate the quick reply, and any assistance you can offer. Not sure where the wrong password attempts came into it.  I started this particular thread from my desktop at work. I recently changed laptops at home - is it possible the new one is not being recognized?  That seems to be the only one with the issue.

Tell us your IP address from the banned computer and we will fix it.

Thanks.  When I get home from work tonight I'll get the IP address of my home laptop - but I won't be able to give it to you until Friday as I can't access the site from home at this point.
