Every person here loves cars.  Many, no, most of the cars you love just wouldn't make good puzzles.  They are just a bit too well known to turn into a puzzle.

Why does that stop you from posting up a thread telling us all about the car you love? 

Find the section of the board which best fits the car you love and, please, tell us all about it!!!   Remember to use lots of pics too!!!

OK, let's start with a contentious question:

What do you think is the most beautiful car of all time?

That should elicit hundreds of different responses?!

I would have to go with Marcello Gandini's masterpiece, the Lamborghini Miura. Outrageous, impractical, throw whatever criticisms you have at it - it is still drop-dead gorgeous. I prefer the earlier P400 versions with the little "eyelashes" on the headlamps, although the later P400S and P400SV versions were certainly better cars. Who cares? Not me.

Oh, well, two days ago in Münich I heard a roar on a quiet street. It turned out that two guzs tried to drive a Miura onto a trailer. They had to rev it a bit....

I've driven one and I have to say it was a bit difficult; I definitely wouldn't like to do a long drive in it..
But it IS stunningly beautiful and is up there amongst the best.  Close to perfection visually.
Not my choice though, which I'll reveal a bit later...

I have a soft spot for the Maserati 3500GT Touring fixed-head.  If I had had £350 back in the 60s I could have bought one with a damaged engine. The vendor had located a spare engine at Chipstead Motors for £250.
The Maseratis of the early 50s are all exquisite. Also, the Giulietta Sprint. The original Lotus Elite is close to perfection apart perhaps, from the direct rear view.
Due to the problems of scale, it is far more difficult to create a beautiful small car, so we should really honour those few who achieved this holy grail: the 5CV Citroen of the early 20s, and the Goggomobil Coupé!

Just to be contentious:  the Miura is a total masterpiece and Gandini is a genius.  The only problem is he didn't actually design the Miura..  He is of course credited with it wherever you read about it but I've always reckoned it to be a Giugiaro design. I was finally vindicated in a recent interview for an Italian magazine where Giugiaro finally admitted it wad 70% his design whilst still at Bertone and Gandini only completed the details.
As I've always thought, it wouldn't have been politically correct for Bertone to say their masterpiece was designed by a Ghia stylist, so they gave Gandini the credit.
Of course at that time it was just the latest Bertone supercar and it's only history that has mounted it on a huge pedestal as the greatest design of all time.  With the benefit of hindsight Giugiaro might well regret allowing his successor to take credit for it, but he is philosophical about it..

I can't argue with anyone's choice so far; they are all beautiful cars.

My own personal favourite is the Ferrari 250 Lusso, first seen in 1962.
Whenever I see one I can't help thinking "Is this car really 54 years old"?!
