Moving puzzles from Rookie to Solved
« on: August 30, 2024, 06:24:45 PM »
I have realised that my previous solved puzzle has been sitting for 12 years (!!!) in the Rookie Forum instead of being in the solved Forum

Graham#8 - 1912 Condor from Coventry, England

How do I move it - I can't see the "Move Topic" button when I open the puzzle.
"She's a beauty!" - Australian Prime Minister describes the first 48-215 Holden to come off the production line in November 1948

I can't see it anywhere in the Rookies.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

It is in the 2012 section of the Solved Puzzles.

You should have all or most of buttons as per below (maybe not all as some may only be available to Editors; I can't tell!):

1) At top and bottom of current thread:

Reply / Add poll / Notify / Mark unread / Send this topic / Print / Search

2) At top right of current post:

Quote / Modify / Remove / Split Topic

3) The bottom line of the entire thread you are on:

Move Topic / Remove Topic / Lock Topic / Set Topic Sticky / Merge Topics / Link to Calendar

I assume you have the majority of these but are there some you don't have Graham?

For the attention of all members - GrahamClayton asked for help moving one of his puzzles from Rookies to Experts. Apparently the option of Move Topic did not appear on his scereen.

I did the necessary and intended to advise him of this, only the puzzle GrahamClayton#9, failed to transfer to Experts and indeed disappeared altogether. I can't find it anywhere.

If any member finds the puzzle somewhere on our site, either by accident or design, please could you do something to cover my embarassment.

If you are looking for Graham#9 (instead of GrahamClayton#9) there is one at Expert Puzzles and one in the 2012 srction of the Dolved Puzzles.

;D Thanks. I know now what went wrong. I didn't post any words before moving the puzzle, so the site's inner workings decided that it should be placed according to the last date on the puzzle. Therefore it's halfway down the second page of Experts.

I'll let the OP know its whereabouts.

Carnut,

I have all of those settings - I mustn't have noticed them. There shouldn't be any further problems with me moving puzzles now.
