Since meanwhile I hardly can be familiar with the AutoPuzzles-site, I would like to ask the following questions:
1) What is this new 'The Brand-New 2025 Vehicle Identification Board'-section for? I'm not sure, but all puzzles there, could have been found previously in the 'Black-Hole-section', or am I wrong?
2) Which puzzles go there, why and when? And by whom?
3) For pointhunters: Solved puzzles of the 'Black-Hole-section' are awarded with two points (I am not sure, if I am right)? The 'Ex-Black-Hole-section-puzzles' in the 'The Brand-New 2025 Vehicle Identification Board'-section with only one point?

Thanks very much for all replies in advance. I hope they will help all other players to understand this new section too

'The Brand-New 2025 Vehicle Identification Board' was created to have one single place for requests and puzzles to which the poster himself doesn't know the answer. The majority of the new board's entries stems from the former "Information Requests || What is this car ? thread" which was too large to be of much use anymore. One could hardly find out whether requests were satisfactorily answered or not. With one entry per unidentified car in the new thread it is much easier to have an overview. And as you proved several so far unknown cars could be identified after years of oblivion. Furthermore the editors agreed that it would be just fine moving those puzzles from the Black Hole (and a very few forgotten ones from the Masters) to the new thread, as far as they were about cars unidentified even by the puzzle poster. We are in the process of informing the owners of those puzzles about our intent to move these puzzles and have already moved some to the new board.
Regarding your question about the points: the puzzle owner can still award two points for former Black Hole puzzles when these are solved. The new board does not mean any downgrade to these puzzles. It is rather an upgrade for the so far unsolved requests. As you may have noticed you have been awarded some points for identifying cars from the new board (as long as they were no reposts) by me or other editors.

Thank you so much for clarifying

One more question:

To find this additional new puzzle-section easier, wouldn't it be helpful for all of us to move it from 'News, Information and Feedback'- to 'Puzzles, Games and Name That Car'-section?

Fine to find 'The Brand-New 2025 Vehicle Identification Board' now in the 'Puzzles, Games and Name That Car'-section.  My additional question seems unnecessary to be answered

Thank you very much

Here the official rulebook of the 'The Brand-New 2025 Vehicle Identification Board' as an additional information to former answers

Actually, I felt very happy for the future of Autopuzzles-site creating 'The Brand-New 2025 Vehicle Identification Board'. A new attempt to bring more momentum into the puzzle process. Great, but once again I miss uniformly, simple and clear rules for everyone. Which could ensure faster and more movement.

1) ..If you have identified one of these cars please add some proof by attaching a meaningful screenshot or scan. Topics with finally identified cars should be moved to the Solved AutoPuzzles thread with the correct identification in the header..

ad 1) Who moves them to the 'Solved AutoPuzzles thread'? The poster himself, who requested answers to an him unknown car years ago and risks an look at the AutoPuzzles-site once a year??
With the proof attached, I think, they can be moved there after waiting for one or two weeks for the poster's reply by the editors. (more movement!)
What will a rookie puzzler, who took part on the new board and found a solution, think about our game, while waiting months for any reaction? Right, she/he will spend her/his time never more at this site

2) ..The AutoPuzzler who posted the unidentified car may or may not award a point for a correct identification. This board is mainly about identification and not for obtaining puzzle points..

ad 2) If this board is (mainly) about identification and not for obtaining puzzle points, why not 0 points? Do you fear, less people will then be interested to search and post a car's identification?
If this is the reason, why not each one point for every identification?
..may or may not award a point for a correct identification..: Sorry, how to understand that?? Friend to friend: 'Yes', others: 'No'? Why not clear and simple 'points' or 'no points'??
If there should be a reward in any form, please the same for everyone, or no reward for everyone!!

This criticism's intention is mainly to help rethinking the concept and rulebook of the new board again. I tried to get momentum into this board from the start of it. Whenever I take a look there, I see bleak stagnation. That is certainly not your wish, I think. Not mine too

Ad 1) It should mainly be the task of the member who initially posted the request. In case he didn't attend this site for a longer time I have moved the solved request to the Solved board by myself. If the questioner is still active I have so far PMed the members to make the new process known to them. Furthermore I think this is not always a case of solved or not solved (e. g. the (nick)name of the car is given but not the builder). In these cases the initial poster should decide if his request is satisfactorily answered or not. Which of course should be made clear by posting a reply.

Ad 2) This board contains a mixture of a) former information requests for which were not given any points in the past and b) former Master or Black Hole puzzles previously worth 1 resp. 2 points. Some information requests later led to puzzles, so they are kind of reposts. I don't see the possibility of handling all these topics in the same way. This thread is also open to everyone, but rookies aren't allowed to post puzzles. We could for sure discuss algorithms how many points are to be given for a solution taking into account the member status, the topic's history, a possible repost, the degree of solution etc. No problem, I am a mathematician working in the IT with a fondness of playing complex board games. But I wanted to keep it simple trusting in the members' abilities to find a satisfactory way.

I don't see stagnation on the new board. Au contraire, many posts have been replied to. Now it is up to the questioners to react. This may take some time, just like it does with the regular puzzles. Not every member shows up here every day. We the editors will keep an eye on the new board, but we do not understand ourselves as a 24/7 service team.

I don't want to appear annoying, but I think, the following question may be an interesting one for all players:

Why no points for solved repost-puzzles of 'The Brand-New 2025 Vehicle Identification Board', but points for solved repost-puzzles in the rookie-, expert-, professional- and master-section?

Thank you for effort and help

Indeed, the policy should be better :) Thank you for mentioning it. The Vehicle Identification Board is a brand new idea, we still need to get used to it and figure out how to mesh it with other parts of the site.

Since this issue was brought up and some of my posts have been moved to this category I would also like to clarify that no points will be awarded for identification of unknown vehicles on here by me to point hunters and google lens-ers who have no idea what they're talking about.

More such posts will come soon regarding unknown vehicles observed in NK in this specific category.

Appreciate the dedicated board, btw.
