New thread
« on: April 13, 2009, 04:40:29 PM »
I am writing to know Your opinion about my new idea which is described below:

I really like the basic conception of Paul Jaray's "Italian coachbuilders" thread. I though it would be good for me to start a new thread that I may call "Yesterday at the showroom". My conception is to post the galleries of pictures of automobiles that could be seen at the particular Motor Show several years ago (the older it is  - the better but I think not newer than 2000 or at least 2005). The pictures that may be posted in this thread should meet one condition the cars in the pictures should be at the stand of the showroom. If I started this thread I would try to post the pictures of the shows as the separate galleries, but all users would be also greatly welcome to post their pictures in the same gallery or later add pictures with the description: name of car and the name of the show (if it is exactly know).

Thus all users (starting experts I think) would have a perfect chance to dicover/rediscover the past of the motor shows.

What do You think?

Sounds interesting. I think I may be able contribute something to this thread too. The thing is are personal photos meant or the magazine/Internet/etc pictures would be allowed either?

I could contribute with Geneva 2007 and 2008, New York 2007, Classic Cars Live, London, 2005, and the Norwegian Auto Show, Autofil, 2004.

That would be nice.

I just wish I had time to contribute cause I have some magazines from 1993/1994/1995 until 2001 or something that could be of some interest...

And I think that's an EXCELLENT idea!

It would be up to the admins to rearrange the pics in shows as they were being posted, making like an index, on year and show. But I guess that would only be interesting if the amount of pics was enough... Just some random thoughts...

Great idea!
(I have hundreds of pictures taken at the past Mille Miglia editions, from the 90s till recent years, but this is not a show...)

We refer to the Mille Miglia as a Museo Viaggiante.... (traveling museum)...

Then why not to make a different thread for museums and classic rallies? I'd contribute there too.
