Uh, where are the puzzles?
« on: April 24, 2006, 02:53:56 PM »
Call me stupid (OK, you can STOP now) but I half expected to find some of Karn Utz's patented auto-related puzzles at this site. Ya know. LIke "Name that universal joint" or "Identify that axle lubricant.  Silly me!   :'(

Seeing you here is very nice.

Karn is working on the front page of the site.  That is where he will be putting the bulk of his puzzles.  You can see how it is coming here:

www.autopuzzles.com/mambo

Thanks for registering for the site and keep your eyes peeled for the autopuzzles on the main page.

I suppose I could post a cople here, just to keep my punning and obtuse clue fabrication skills intact.

FYI, I built a shell of an entire site in HTML over the weekend, only to find that I couldn't update it to Mambo. It looked kind of cool (I though it did, anyway). So I'm back to reading the mambo tutorials.

FYI, I signed up at mamboforge, as well, to see if there is anything I could quickly glean on designing a cool-looking site.

Oh - and thanks for dropping by, MG! Hope to see you around often once we git 'er done.

Mambo is only one option.  I can load the HTML shell as the Autopuzzles front page, or I can teach you how to do it, if that is easier for you.

Very important to do that, amigo.  I never quite trust a man who does not make the occasional pun! ;D

Took me a while to figure out how to post a reply. Apparently one must log in each visit?  No big deal. Just getting used to the neighborhood is all.

Lotta new features here. Interesting.

Good on ya, lad!   8)

Check your P.M's

Plus, too and also, you can set it so you do not have to log in each time.

I could forward what I created, if you want to try uploading. I created them with Yahoo Sitebuilder, which I had from a previous attempt to sell my wife's handmade sewn items on the web.

I saved them in HTML and PHP format (though I'm not sure how well they will translate).

Try attaching the HTML file to a PM as an attachment at the Lachine Machine.  It should work.  Then I can download it from there and try to upload it as the site.

Let's give it a shot.

Will do - I'll do it overnight, since the files are on my machine at home.

I'll look for them in the morning.

Folks, while the front page is being finished, we have active puzzles in the Vintage section.

Thought I'd say hi. Never could answer any of the puzzles, but I always love going through them. Looking forward to this site getting into the full swing of things. BTW Ultra, ever check out SelfPromote.com? It's a great (and free) way to drive up traffic.
