What's the car to the right in this picture with the "triangle" rear lights?

Well that registration number leads to the Chapman Mercury which looks like this now:

Maybe someone had a small collision in the original and they had to re-do the front?
They are different registration plates though; but weren't the 'TT' plates just temporary registrations for export cars?  Maybe they allocated a new one when the car was off the road for a little time for any reason, like re-building the front?

I'm referring to the Motto Jaguar discussion of course!

Thank you Allan. Funnily enough this actually appears to be the best picture of the rear that exist online.

The Temporary Import (TT) plates were a different layout of digits/letters and red. The two registrations are of the standard format used for many years and the "75" is the Paris Department code number.

Yes, I know '75' was Paris, but still didn't the 'TT' mean they were temporary plates issued by Paris Department.
Can a Frenchman enlighten us?!

The "#### TT ##" pattern was used for "transit temporaire" plates from March 1954 in any French department according to this site : http://plaque.free.fr/f_tt_f.html

So they may indeed be "transit temporaire" plates issued in Paris.

Different layouts have been used, always with a red background, which may appear as black on B&W photos.

Thanks

Knowing how coachbuilders often worked it could be they are completely different cars.
When they came up with a design they liked the look of they would often make 2 or 3 copies, each with very slight differences, maybe even based on different cars.  So it could be possible that these Mottos are not the same car but just a very similar (and unknown!) copy.

This one has been bothering me for a few days now, as I am sure that I know it, but just can not place what it is.  It is Paris-registered, French I think, and competed in the 1960 Rallye Catalunya.  Any ideas of make, model and coachbuilder very welcome please, to put me out of my frustration?  Thank you.

Coming back to this one, I spoke today with Mr. Motto. He confirms that they made 2 of them at the same time: one for pilot Clemente Biondetti and another for a Swiss man, owner of a large salami factory. He also remembers that the 2 cars had slightly different front grills. So, the mistery should be solved.

That sounds like it is solved then.  :) Do Mr Motto knows anything about what happened to either of the cars?

That's what I thought the answer would be.
They didn't like to waste a good design so made a very small 'run' or them (2 or 3 cars) if they could.  That's obviously what happened in this case.  A good thing too!

I have tried to find some pictures/information about the cars that received bodies by Maurice Gomm. I have been told by a owner of a Gomm-bodied car that Maurice Gomm (as in the business) had a picture archive of their work as recent as ten years ago, before they went out of business. Given that it existed so recently then I would think that there is a possibility that someone preserved the pictures before they went out of business. I would love to see if I could get hold them, but the problem is that I have absolutely no idea who I should contact or where to start. The owner of the Gomm-car did not know. I've also spoken with the author of the Tojeiro book but he did not known either.

Does anyone here know anyone I could contact who could know about it or are anyone here familiar with them? :)

I was thinking Denzel. However those crease lines along the bonnet and front wings look very modern - is this some sort of attempt to create a modern coupe Denzel?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

I don't think so, as the number plates are from Belgium.

Does anyone know (and ideally have proof of) what this car is please?

It was found abandoned in Glasgow, Scotland, in the early 1990s.  It possibly uses a Mini or Hillman Imp engine, either rear or mid-mounted, and around three examples are believed to have been made.  Beyond that, I don't know much more, so any extra information will be much appreciated.

Thanks.
Finally I can answer:
