I suppose it could be SGM rather than GSM, but I don't recognise it at all.

I have been to many meetings of the Society for General Microbiology, but I'm fairly sure it has nothing to do with that...

The chrome "fin" on the "trunk/boot" says "Scorpion" in a hard-to-read font.  The original poster on the kit car blog indicated it was a Corvette.  Did you try contacting him?  (In spite of the image being from 2007).

This one looks similar to this Diatto 20, a chassis bodied by E.Mouche & C.ie in 1923.

It looks very similar but Diatto is a much bigger car.
The car in my photos is smaller roadster, possibly "Voiturette" class car
I first thought it was Salmson but it isn't

I think this is it - it has the same registration number - Bugatti T43 with body by Derrington.

Can anyone here ID this car?

It is posted in a military history forum I belong to in their "vehicles to identify" thread (no points, just thanks) and I cannot figure out what it is.  It looks to me like a Benz/Mercedes/Daimler of around 1925 but it has LHD and most luxury cars of that era had RHD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS, sorry for the watermark but that is what photo collectors do.

Bill

I wonder if it might be an AGA, made in Berlin, 1919-26. They seemed to favour these angular mudgards on their earlier models, and the radiator looks about right. It's not a great picture, but the one below is a 1921 model, and has similar bodywork. There are more pictures around online, but this this one seemed to be the closest match for body style.

Hi Tom:

Thanks very much for your efforts and I think you may have the answer.

15 minutes or so on Google.de resulted in photos of a lot of very similar vehicles.
Including, a few of examples apparently exported to the Netherlands that were LHD which may solve a hangup as the German examples all seem to be RHD.

I will keep looking and report anything more I come up with here.

Bill

Hello Autopuzzlers,
It's been a while, but some of you might remember me, you poor unfortunate souls.
I've got a bit of a tricky one, though this group has a tendency to redefining just what is truly tricky. Still, it may be a challenge. Or not.

The only thing I know is that it made history a while ago (within past 50 years) and that it was created for a very specific purpose, one that it achieved. Beyond that, I have nothing other than some half-formed observations, a few hazy recollections, hints as-yet unexamined and woefully ill-developed thoughts. And my lunch is now cold.

Any idea what this is?  From the image of the bare chassis, it appears to use a transverse-engined FWD setup mounted behind the driver, to make a mid-engined trike.  Outside photos were taken in or near West Virginia.
