That looks more an Asian scene to me.
The reg could perhaps be Brunei.
Burma was also white on black, one serial letter followed by 4 numbers - except they used Burmese characters...
Indonesia was also white on black, 1 letter followed by 4 numbers, but there was no W..
Malaysia was exactly the same, and again no W.
I was wrong about the Windward Islands by the way: Each Island had its own code, so WD was Dominica, WG Grenada, WL St Lucia and WV St Vincent!

hmm, while I agree that it looks similar, I'm wondering if it's some type of low rent copy based on the Alfa Spider because this doesn't look EXACTLY like this:

it looks too narrow and the wheelbase is too small to be an S-class convertible.
The roof isn't right either. The door handles and badge aren't right either. the Lorenz & Rankls have a GIANT grille badge

hmm, looks like there were different 'generations' of this?

Though the original picture still doesn't seem to have the right proportions.

His doesn't seem to have the right grille badge... it's got some circular badge on the hood though that looks like a 'C'

This car was spotted in Italy by a friend.

Also, look at the hood, see how this has a curved edge towards the windshield... it also lacks the 'intake area' at the base of the windshield that the original picture has
this seems to have that intake area:

but it's one single slat and not 4
it's also curved across the top

It is a Silver Falcon - may be with BMW 3-series engine. And the sign on the hood is like the one pictured below.
