Hello all

New member here, posting from Suffolk UK

Main interests are Model A's and T's, but a passing glance at 50's English Ford Specials (Flatpack EB60 Sports on the list of things to get round to)

A fellow club member has a friend who has just bought this. No idea what it is but kph instrumentation suggests a European heritage despite US mechanicals

Funny, I've got a picture of the same car in my collection. It is most probably an Opel P4 with post-war bodywork, either done by a private person or a small unknown coachbuilder. The Opel has a post-1953 East German registration from Leipzig.

I found it.. It's an ordinary toy car from Spain. Sorry was a little bit fooled by a friend of mine.

Despite the German post-war license plate it looks like a coachbuilt Italian car to me, perhaps some kind of Fiat 1500. Who can tell me exactly?

I'd say it is a British Merlin +2. At least the chrome script reads like MERLIN 2000 to me.

who can help me identify this small car?
no manufacturer's plate, probable USA origin.
the only clues I identified:
-flathead 6 engine from studebaker,
-front bumper from cadillac 41,
-inscribed on the WITHNEY steering wheel,
-The car is around 10-12 'long & 41/2' wide,
-1948 sticker on the windshield,
-a US Navy crest certainly from the previous owner
is it a prototype or a very beautiful handcrafted achievement?

The mascot looks like Buick, but the mascot base has a red circle that it seems like Bantam logo. The wings logo in the front reminds me the Austin brand. Just guessing

Yesterday my daughter sent me a picture from Bari in Italy showing two cars in a small garage. (Some paternal influence in education must have been right

) At first sight the front car looks like a Lotus Seven, but I rather think it might be an Austin Seven special or something alike. Neither can I identify the car behind it. An Italian etceterini?

The front car does look very like a Lotus Seven, whatever the badging.. And it's RHD.
The car behind it looks rather like a Rochdale GT to me:

I'm fairly sure the silver car is an Austin 7 Speedex Special. They seem to have been built with various different rear bodywork.

This photo is the subject of much debate on another forum. I show an enlarged section of a bigger image of parked cars in an English market town.

Many have suggested a Lancia Aurelia\ but I doubt it. Not a Vanguard or a Pobeda. Any ideas?
