The side window looks longer than on the famous lister coupe.

I'm 99% it's the same car. I think it could have been re-bodied at some time and maybe the measurements aren't exactly the same.

The current car actually have a different roof line, a different windshield and perhaps a different side windows that how it was originally built. I thought these were modern changes, but perhaps they were actually done before that picture was taken?

I haven't checked whether the car was badly crashed during its period career, but many owners of valuable historic cars keep the original panels in storage, and use copy bodywork in order to take part in historic racing - it can be very expensive!

Pity- that would have made a good puzzle!  ;D.

We've had the Parson-MG previously. I'm pretty sure this was a different chassis because the road registrations aren't the same.

It's me again.  ;D Now I am wondering about whether anyone knows who made the body for the  MBM SP-100 of 1960? As I understand it this car actually have a aluminum body unlike the "ordinary" MBM. I was therefore wondering whether it could perhaps have been built by Sauter who did the body on Monteverdis Ferrari 750 Monza coupe-conversion?

I'm also very curious about who made the body for the Cooper Jaguar cars, like this t38. It looks like it could be a Williams & Pritchard body to my eyes but I found no mention of any coachbuilders online. Did Cooper have the ability to construct bodies like this themselves?

And this article mentions that Peel coachworks made the bodies on HRG cars, but it does not specify which one. Did they make the bodies on the HRG Twin Cams of 1955? And who made the body on the Emperior?  :)

This one has been bothering me for a few days now, as I am sure that I know it, but just can not place what it is.  It is Paris-registered, French I think, and competed in the 1960 Rallye Catalunya.  Any ideas of make, model and coachbuilder very welcome please, to put me out of my frustration?  Thank you. (Now resolved; Motto Jaguar).

From a reliable Swiss source I understood that the original body was made by coach builder Peter Häner from Basel. Other sources claim it was a Heron body from UK, but I go for the first option. After an accident it disappeared in a shed and was discovered in 1978, but the body was almost completely gone. Between 1982 and 1992 it was restored by a team of Swiss specialists.

Thanks Nicanary, I've got a feeling that it might be Salmson-based as well, but I can't be 100% certain...

Apart from the grille, both cars are extremely close and were obviously registered roughly at the same time (only 27 license plate numbers apart). I reckon they are two slightly different Motto XK150s, or the same one that was slightly modified (maybe after a crash) and re-registered for some reason.

I would think it is the same car as it seems to have the exact same set of lights mounted beneath the bumpers, and these lights do not seems to be a integrated part of Mottos design

I have to disagree - I think they are different cars. They may have the same aftermarket fog lamps, but the grilles and the profiles of the fronts of the cars are different, as well as the registration numbers. Also the fog lamps are mounted in different positions on the two cars. On the Motto car they are mounted slightly inboard of the sidelamps, whereas on the unknown one they are further out towards the edge of the car. I really don't think they are the same car.

I think it is the same car that have just gotten a lengthened front for some reason. Just take a look at the area above the red dot and compare it with the Jaguar XK150 by Motto. Also note the badge which is located much farther away from the front on the mystery car than the Motto.
