I recommend the Seneca lodge for the purposes of quaffing a pint or two. I do not recommend it for the food, as the fact that it's filling is high praise, nor for *shudder* sleeping.
The bar at the Seneca, however, is worth seeing. There aren't many bars in this world that have signed race slicks, Jackie Stewart's laurel wreath from the F1 race in the 70's and about a zillion arrows shot into the wall behind the bar. Ambiance? Yeah, it's got that. The beer even tastes slightly of Castrol R. Plus, if you ask nicely to see the thumb, the bartender will show you something that you will not see in other bar in the world. Of course, if you find mummified digits mounted on plaques distasteful, you might want to skip that part. Even better, the bartender will put videos of vintage racing on the tube so you can see how the boys did it way back when.
If you're there, you should definitely check it out.
