The Donate button in the upper right hand corner of every page of this forum is a PayPal secure button for donating to the operating costs of running the site. If you can't see it, shut off your ad blocking for this site. All donations made to the site will be posted here, either anonymously or with username and amount, as the donator wishes.

Thanks to all of you for your love and use of the site and thanks in advance for your support.

I don't know about others, Charlie, but I'm not seeing a Donate button, and I don't have any ad blocking in place.

The only time I can see one is if I log out of Autopuzzles, and view the board as a guest. Then the button and ad panel are visible, but if I log in, they disappear again. That's fine for reading the forum, but it won't drum up many contributions! I've tried it with two PCs and three different browsers, and the same thing happens consistently.

That's not the problem - I have that pane open anyway. Below are a couple of screen caps showing what I see when logged out and in.

More worrying is that, from this morning (British time), when I log out, or otherwise navigate to a page with the "Donate" button, my virus scanner reports that it is blocking a Trojan (JS:Redirector-IK) originating from www.slamx.net. I don't know if it's a false positive, but it's not very encouraging.

If anyone is hesitating after my earlier posts, the virus warning I reported seems to have gone now. I still only see the "Donate" button when I am logged out of the forum, but that's only a minor inconvenience. So I took the plunge earlier today, and the system seems to be working OK.

Glad to hear the virus warnings are disappearing. I've had the host run an antivirus over the site. All is clear according to them.

Just under $42 dollars a month. That is how the new hosting costs are breaking down. Our growth and the growth of the money supply is only gonna drive those costs higher.

The ads are on the site to help deflect those costs. Please give them the attention (click) they deserve.

Maybe you should make payment compulsory for those wishing to post?
That way it would a) spread out the cost so would be less each and b) sort out the men from the boys..

I'll shut the site down before I make it compulsory.

The ads help those who help themselves. Maybe some of the "men" will step up on their own. Others of them, I doubt it.
